Continued Improvments

Here is just a small list of our latest and greatest updates:

TONS of Bug Fixes

Since the last Beta refresh build, the team has fixed over 1000 issues – including many which were reported by our customers (THANK YOU!).

Performance Improvements

Customers will again see improved performance with the latest build, including a faster sign-in!

Virus scanning

We’ve made some improvements to our Virus scanning of message attachments so we can remove any potential viruses before the user opens it. 

Photo E-Mail Updates

You’ve been asking for it, and now you have it – sending photo e-mail through POP accounts has been added in the latest build! 

Change the color of your folders

With the latest build, you can now customize the color of your mail folders per account.  All you have to do is right click on a folder or the account name, and choose “Set Color”!

Improvements to Contact Importing

If there is a suspected duplicate contact while importing, we will provide customers with the option of merging the data into one contact. 

Better Update Notifications

Customers will now be able to opt-in to use Automatic Updates to receive notice of any updates to the product

Making a difference…

Last time I blogged, I talked a lot about feedback options for the Beta, and how important it was for us to hear what you had to say.

First off, I’d like to thank everyone for taking the time to continue doing this!  Since we released the last Beta refresh build, you have submitted over 2000 pieces of feedback to our team – this is truly incredible!  We really do take your comments seriously and, in fact, the features above were done in part due to the feedback that was sent in from our Beta community. 

So, on that note – please keep the feedback coming!  You’ll see some changes to the feedback options once again with this build – and will likely continue to see updates in this space in future versions while we try to iron out details.  But, just as a quick refresher, the majority of the options are still present…

Support Site  

Same spot as before!  This is a great place to send any issues/bugs that you’re running into.  Just go to this site and submit a ticket for any issue you might be experiencing.

Newsgroup

We have created a new NG (Microsoft.public.windows.live.mail.desktop) just for WLMd that you can view both through newsreaders and through the web.  This is a great place to go and discuss your issues/suggestions with others, and to filter through the posts to see if maybe someone else has hit the same problems.

Send Feedback (web)

Navigates to http://feedback.live.com.  Just search through the list, find Windows Live Mail desktop, click on it – and send your feedback!  This is a great option when sending feature suggestions/ideas.
